"Summons" is the first episode of season one of the supernatural werewolf series Bitten and the first episode of the series overall. It was directed by Brad Turner with a script written by Daegan Fryklind. It first aired in Canada on the Space Channel on Saturday, January 11th, 2014. It first aired in the United States on Syfy on Monday, January 13th, 2014.
Overview[]
Bitten is a television series about werewolves and stars Laura Vandervoort as Elena Michaels, who is an attractive blonde-haired woman who is one of the rare few females to survive being cursed with lycanthropy. The other billed cast members in the series include Greyston Holt as Clayton Danvers, who is Elena's former lover and a werewolf himself. Greg Bryk plays Jeremy Danvers who is the Alpha werewolf of a family pack that operates out of the Stonehaven estate in Bear Valley, New York. Paul Greene plays Philip McAdams, who is Elena's human boyfriend in Toronto, who is also a successful advertising executive. Of the main cast, the final member is Steve Lund, who portrays the role of Nick Sorrentino. Nick is one of the Stonehaven werewolves and is known for his sexually adventurous lifestyle. Supporting cast members on the series include Michael Xavier as Logan Jonsen, who lives in Toronto as well and is Elena's "cousin"; Paulino Nunes, who plays Antonio Sorrentino, who is Nick's birth father as well as his werewolf father; Genelle Williams is Rachel Sutton - a human from Toronto, and girlfriend of Logan Jonsen; Fiona Highet plays Karen Morgan, who is the sheriff of Bear Valley and often called upon to investigate strange matters taking place near Stonehaven; James McGowan is James William, who is Philip's top client. He becomes more important later in the series. Lastly, there is Natalie Brown as Diane McAdams, who is Elena's best friend in Toronto, and the sister of Philip McAdams.

- Bitten is based on Women of the Otherworld, which is the name of a series of supernatural/dark fantasy novellas by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong. The books feature werewolves, witches, necromancers, sorcerers, and vampires struggling to fit as "normal" in today's world. The series also includes novellas and short stories, published online (and one in an anthology).

- When the taxi drops Elena off at the end of the episode, the taxi's phone number on the side has an area code of 607. 607 is the area code for south-east of Syracuse, whereas according to Elena, Stonehaven is "100 miles west of Syracuse," putting into the 585 area code. [1]
