Biography[]

Father McFarland was a Bishop living on the island of Harrow's Point, Maine in the early half of the 20th century. McFarland's experience as a priest brought him into conflict with vampires on more than one occasion. He discovered that the lighthouse keeper of Harrow's Point was a vampire and so he tracked him to his small cabin near a cemetery and drove a stake into the creature's heart. A short time later, Father McFarland was tasked with presiding over the funeral service of Laurie Neal, also a victim of a vampire attack. This time however, the attacker in question was the lord of all vampires Vlad Dracula. Father McFarland, a physician named Doctor Chowder and Laurie's widower Frank hunted Dracula down and cornered him in the tower room of the lighthouse. Dracula fought back, summoning the forces of nature to rebuff his attackers. A mighty wind blew the windows inward, and shards of shattered glass flew into Father McFarland, killing him. Oddly, the blood from his body sprayed onto the lighthouse beacon in the shape of a cross. Frank Neal activated the beacon and the intense light, combined with the shadow of the cross-shaped blood stained drove Dracula away.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Father McFarland was well-versed in all matters relating to the Christian faith. He also possessed limited knowledge of the occult, specifically, the ability to identify and destroy vampires.
