Beta is a fictional zombie holocaust survivor and a central antagonist featured in The Walking Dead comic book series by Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment. He first appeared in issue #154 in 2016. He played a recurring role in the "Call to Arms" storyline, and a major role in "The Whisperer War". He makes his live-action debut in the ninth season of Walking Dead, portrayed by Ryan Hurst.

• Beta is the first celebrity seen within the Walking Dead's TV universe, being a former country singer going by the stage name Half Moon.

• In the comics, Beta was a successful NBA basketball player. In the TV series, he was a moderately known country-western singer.

• In the comics, Beta was killed by Aaron and Paul Monroe. On the TV series, he was stabbed through both eyes by Daryl Dixon.
