Army of the Dead is an American independent feature film of the action and zombie apocalypse subgenres of horror. It was directed by Zack Snyder with a screenplay written by Snyder, Joby Harold, and Shay Hatten. It was produced by Cruel & Unusual Films and opened to limited theatrical release in the United States on May 14th, 2021. It made its worldwide premiere on Netflix on May 21st, 2021. The movie stars Dave Bautista as Scott Ward - a former mercenary, who is hired to lead a raid into zombie-occupied Las Vegas to recover $200 million dollars from a casino vault. Scott's daughter Kate, played by Ella Purnell, manipulates her way into the operation so she can conduct a rescue mission for refugees trapped within the occupation zone.

  • Principal filming on Army of the Dead began on July 15th, 2019. The casino scenes were filmed in September. Principal photography concluded on October 19th, 2019.
  • The movie was filmed in different locations including Los Angeles, California, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of the casino shots were filmed at the Atlantic Club Casino and the Showboat Atlantic City casino & hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
  • The first teaser trailer for Army of the Dead dropped on February 25th, 2021. The full official trailer was released on April 13th, 2021. On May 13th, 2021, the first fifteen minutes of the film were leaked online.
