Arachnophobia is an American feature film of the predatory animal and dark comedy genres. It was directed by Frank Marshall with a screenplay written by Don Jakoby and Wesley Strick based on a story treatment by Jakoby and Al Williams. It was produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, as well as Hollywood Pictures and Interscope Communications. It premiered theatrically in North America on July 18th, 1990.
