The Appalachian Mountains is a mountain range located in North America that runs through both the United States and Canada. In the U.S., it runs through the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Basically, the majority of the Eastern region of the country.
In the 2010 horror/comedy film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, two hillbillies named Tucker and Dale purchase a cabin up in the mountains, which they intend on renovating. Little do they realize that it was once inhabited by a mass murderer who killed a score of teenagers on Memorial Day twenty years earlier.

- Last Chance Gas was a gas station and convenience store located in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Tucker and Dale stopped there to pick up some supplies in preparation for renovating their new vacation home. A group of college kids stopped there to pick up some beer. Dale became enamored with a pretty blonde-haired student, and Tucker encouraged him to go and speak to her. Looking somewhat creepy, and holding a large scythe, Dale fumbled through an introduction, terrifying the kids.
