"Hero" is the ninth episode of season one of the supernatural action/drama series Angel, which is a spin-off of the popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series. It is the tenth episode of the series overall if one includes the original unaired pilot. The episode was directed by Tucker Gates with a script written by Howard Gordon and Tim Minear. It first aired on the WB Network on Tuesday, November 30th, 1999.

  • Final appearance of Allen Francis Doyle. Actor Glenn Quinn later dies of a heroin overdose on December 3rd, 2002. The season four episode of Angel "Long Day's Journey" includes the testimonial In Loving Memory of Glenn Quinn. Quinn passes away a month before the episode airs.
