- This film is loosely based on the Alphabet murders that took place in Rochester, New York between 1971 and 1973.
- Director Rob Schmidt makes a cameo appearance in the film as a police officer.
- Nate Dushku, who plays Tim, is the older brother of Eliza Dushku.
Production & Release[]
- Principal filming on The Alphabet Killer began on December 11th, 2006 and concluded on January 29th, 2007.
- The Alphabet Killer had a limited theatrical release in only two theaters. It was screened for six weeks (42 days) and closed out on December 14th, 2008. [3] It was also screened at the Screamfest Film Festival on October 18th, the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival on October 24th, the Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival on October 28th and the San Sebastián Horror and Fantasy Film Festival on October 31st. [4]
- The Alphabet Killer was released on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment on January 6th, 2009.

- Actress Eliza Dushku is better known for playing the character of rival vampire slayer Faith Lehane on the popular WB Network television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She also played the part of Jessie Burlingame in Rob Schmidt's Wrong Turn.
- Actor Bill Moseley has played roles in dozens of other horror movies including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The First Power, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, as well as the remakes of Night of the Living Dead and The Blob.
