Alone in the Dark is an American feature film of the monster horror genre. It is loosely based on the Alone in the Dark survival horror video game series developed by Infogrames Entertainment in 1992. The film was directed by Uwe Boll with a screenplay written by Elan Mastai, Michael Roesch, and Peter Scheerer. It was produced by Boll KG in association with Herold Productions & Brightlight Pictures. It premiered theatrically in the United States on January 28th, 2005.
