Alexander Witt is a film cinematographer, cameraman, assistant director, and director. He was born in Santiago, Chile in 1952. Witt worked as the director of photography (second unit) on the 2001 psycho-thriller Hannibal.

Alexander made his directorial debut in 2004 when he helmed Resident Evil: Apocalypse, which is the first sequel to the 2002 movie Resident Evil. It should also be noted that Witt played a small uncredited role in the film as well as a sniper for the Umbrella Corporation.

Notes & Trivia Edit

Other works Edit

  • Alexander worked on a 1985 movie called Flesh+Blood, which may sound like it should be a horror film, but it really isn't.
  • While Harry and the Hendersons is certainly by no means a horror movie, no one can deny that Witt's ability as a second unit camera operator on the film brings everyone's favorite Sasquatch to life in ways that few others can.
  • Alexander Witt has the distinction of being one of the few and the proud to work on Leonard Part 6. Again, not a horror movie, but I dare anyone to muster up the nerve to sit through the entire thing!
  • He was a second unit director on the 1988 sci-fi movie The X-Files: Fight the Future.
  • Alexander Witt was the second unit director of photography on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which not only stars Johnny Depp, but is chock-full of zombie pirates, too!
