Afraid is an American feature film that blends elements of science fiction with horror. It was written and directed by Chris Weitz and produced by Depth of Field along with Blumhouse Productions in association with TSG Entertainment. It was distributed through Columbia Pictures and premiered in France on August 28th, 2024. It opened in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom on August 30th, 2024. The premise of the film involves a digital assistant called AIA, which is purchased by a man named Curtis and his family. In the era of artificial intelligence, its no surprise that AIA decides to take some liberties with her programming.
