"Project: Second Genesis!" is the title to the first story featured in the 21st issue of the Adventure Into Fear ongoing series published by Marvel Comics. It was written by Steve Gerber with artwork by Gil Kane and inks by Vince Colletta. It was colored by Petra Goldberg and lettered by Tom Orzechowski. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. The second story is a four-page reprinted tale called "Sorry... Mr. Hopkins", which is illustrated by Bill Everett and originally edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with an April, 1974 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy.
The character of Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas, artist Gil Kane and inker Frank Giacoia. He first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October, 1971 in a story titled "A Monster Called... Morbius!" The character has since headlined his own serial in Adventure Into Fear, had two of his own ongoing titles as well as a reprint series and has made appearances in numerous other books such as Vampire Tales.
This is the final issue of the series with a .20 cent cover price. Beginning next issue, the cover price raises from .20 cents per copy to .25 cents per copy.
"Project: Second Genesis!" is reprinted in the Morbius: The Living Vampire Omnibus hardcover collection from June, 2019 as well as the Morbius Epic Collection: Morbius, the Living Vampire trade paperback collection from February, 2021. It is also reprinted in the Adventure Into Fear Omnibus, Volume 1 hardcover edition from July, 2020.
