A Return to Salem's Lot is an American feature film of the horror genre with an emphasis on vampire fiction. It is a standalone non-canon sequel-in name only to the 1979 television movie adaptation, Salem's Lot, which was based on the 1975 novel, Salem's Lot by author Stephen King. A Return to Salem's Lot is an original story that is not directly based on any previously published works. It was written and directed by Larry Cohen and co-written by James Dixon. It was produced by Larco Productions and distributed through Warner Bros. in the United States. It was released on September 11th, 1987.
