"Part One: Remembrances of Things Best Forgotten" is the first issue of the A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Beginning comic book limited series published by Innovation Comics. The story was written by Andy Mangels with artwork and inks by David Day & Dan Day. Coloring and color separations were by In Color and it was lettered by Vickie Williams. The story was edited by David Campiti. This issue shipped in the Summer of 1992 and carries a cover price of $2.50 per copy.

This series is not intended for children. The events of this issue are not necessarily endorsed by the copyright holders at New Line Cinema, and as such, should not be considered part of the canonical narrative of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The events of this issue are a direct sequel to the 1991 film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. This issue opens with an editorial by David Campiti titled "So What've You Heard?" Maggie Burroughs makes reference to several characters featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise, including Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Ben Kenobi. Tracy makes reference to Han Solo. This issue establishes that Alice Neely was the first victim of Freddy Krueger. She was killed in February, 1966. She was seven-years-old.
